Good eveoning ladies , gentlemen, and all those that used to own holdens

My 99 Au needs the step after the 2 1/2 inch single muffler set up...the decent air intake..
Other than just puttinf a great big freaking intake pipe onto the air box what is the best option...OTHER THAN TURBO...for incresing the air intake for my big black wagon that is running full XR specs
It is a you beaut XRS wagon, straight from the factory with full XR specs throughout

Well if it hasnt got the tickford snorkel already, id invest in a BA XR6T snorkel, should be a direct replacement as they are what replaced the tickford snorkel anyway and are exactly the same size. Should be able to get it for around $40-$50 from memory off Ebay, FTG and maybe Ford depending how much they charge nowadays. Get a mandrel bent 3" pipe made up from the T/B to the airbox or fit a BA intake pipe and 3" pipe to extend to the airbox.

If your going to fit a pod filter, put it in the airbox as suggested ^^ there, if its out in the open isnt that classed as a defect over Aussie? Bloody strict laws you guys have to put up with

Some good ideas in this thread.. Show us your air intake

Didnt ford stop the XR wagon in the EF/EL form.

Anyway what i had on my car and it was better then anything else i tried was a G&D airbox. It replaced the standard airbox, had a Big 30cm 4 inch neck POD filter. You cant buy them brand new anymore might be able to get it from ebay or the forums they come up for sale every now and again.

the XLS is an XR6 without the headlights and insurance.
50.00 for an intake snorkel thats crazy ford dealers are cheaper than that, if you get a AU badged one (xr8/tickford) wateva they are cheaper than the BA one thats the same, well at my dealer anyway. dont know how that works being the same. i got mine from Ford badged tickford for 35.00.

Xls are utes. Not wagons

Interesting wagon 8-). I must admit, first time ive seen an AU wagon with the XR front, would look sweet with a nice sutble bodykit.

How long ago did you get the tickford snorkel if you dont mind me asking mate? From what ive heard they are no longer in production (with the tickford wings) and ford no longer stock them. Even when i rang around for one no body could offer me one for my mates XR6. Lol have seen them go on ebay for riduculous prices over the past couple of years.

i got mine minus the wings from ford in 2007,
your most likely right, in that they aren't available.
perhaps ebay is the only place

AND, although the xls does have "sports" suspension and trim they're not tickford enhanced in any way unless optioned to the body kit. The motor/driveline is only the same as the bog stock xl.
