Hi All,

I am researching options for an XG and am wondering about engine upgrades.
Has anyone done an AU into XG engine changeover? I have tried the search function with little luck so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

If you keep the log manifold it should be fairly straight forward, ie pull the old out drop the new in. If you go to the BBM theres a bit more involved.depends what you plans are..are you doing it because the old motors knackered and needs replacing?

I think XGs are the same as EA-ED in regards to the sump/K frame modifications, you just need to grind the fins on the front of the sump off and it will fit. You also need to modify the block to accept your alternator and bracket or use the AU alt, I'm not 100% on the difference in the plugs though.

I was hoping to use the BBM manifold as I am researching a Raptor kit.
The overall plan is to build an XD clone with more modern running gear & the idea of a nice quiet but quick, sleeper 6 is very appealing. If the numbers stack up I will build it as my business daily driver instead of the toaster spec FG I currently drive.
The FG is nice but its just very....boring and the XR's dont appeal as they are a bit over the top for me now I'm officially an older bastard.
I thought about building up an FG but the $ and then the insurance costs blew that theory up. I like the B series but I always loved the XDs so I just thought cost it then build it if it stacks up.
