Hi guys, just wondering whether my '94 ef xr6 should have a tickford "T" embossed on the head or was that with later models. Mine has 94ab which i think is a base model head. Am trying to work out if my engine still has the tickford cam and valves

if it does not have the tickford logo and has 94ab? its just a std head and probably std valves ect..

either its had a head replacement at sometime or its not a genuine xr6??

If its the grey one in your images, I'm going to say its a mock as its missing the interior clock which is standard fitment in XRs.. I might be wrong though

yep no clock!!!!!!!!!! EF GLI 5spd manual(xr6 mockup). If you want ring ford with your vin number and they will tell how the car started. But I can't see someone removing the clock for a plastic panel???

BTW I have a 94AB head on my EL fairmont, there not as good as a tickford head but good old Jim Mock recommends them as a good base for further modifications down the track.

Thanks guys for the info. If it is a mockup the've gone to alot of effort. I'll ring ford with the vin numbers though. God damn dodgy used car salesmen.

I think he knew, as he smiled at me with his dodgy gold teeth. Probably more my fault for not doin my research better as I've had the car for 6 years and was a lot more nieve with my car knowledge back then. All good though still love the car and have changed it alot over the years and will continue doing so.

A really quick comformation, is to look at the VIN plate, the Ford one, see if engine designation is "X"...if so, it's a Tickford....if a "H"...then stocko job.

In those images, there is a red front bumper...that's an EL item....not EF.
I liked the EL ones better than the EF ones.....EF looked homemade.

Thanks cjh, but I put that on there as I crashed the ef front. Yeah I like the el front better to. Gotta sell one of my courier utes and get the el front sprayed to match the grey.

That insinuates that at some point it is switched on.
