Does anyone have an NF series 2 BEM they are willing to part with. I recently purchased a NFII farlane and the central locking and the interior light do not work. I am hoping its the BEM.

Central locking not responding at all. Not when operated by key of by button on dash.

Can anyone suggest what I might check to verify this?
Or what else the problem might be?

Thanks
Guys
Tony

Have you checked the Courtesy Light fuse?

If this Fuse is blown the interior light/courtesy light won't work and niether will smartlock.

If this does not fix it, then I have an EF Fairmont Green BEM I would be willing to sell.

Cheers
BenJ

fuse for sure I think. I took out my fuse to save the battery when I was working on repairs and the car wouldn't start

Usually interior lights flash when fuse is gone and make a click when door is open.

Yes the fuse is ok.

The car starts and works fine.
BEM does not show any error by way of flashing the smart lock on the dash. I believe that when you turn key to ON position the light will flash any errors. It does not flash it just goes out.

The floor lights come on when the door opens but the dome light does not.
The globe does not appear to be blown I will check it with my multi meter tomorrow.

Central locking not working?

How might I start to trouble shoot before I go replacing the BEM

Ta
Tony

OK then.

It would appear to me that the smartlock component of the BEM is working fine then.

The Remote Central Locking part is a separate circuit in the BEM and might be faulty.

You could check for power to the Central Locking Motors. A good look at the wiring circuit is recommended.

Just had a quick look and there is no power getting to the actuators at all.
My understanding is that there is constant power to the actuators and the BEM will ground one of the other two wire. IS THAT CORRECT?

BenJ
Green is the right module for my car. What do you want for your spare?

Thanks
Tony

Im thinking out loud here but:
What wire from the BEM powers the central locking?
If there is now power there would it be reasonable to assume its the BEM?
