had a problem with BF running rough & we reckoned [3 of us] it was a vacumm leak [sounded like a 'chaff cutter'. well pulled the top of the manifold off & i have no idea of any problems, so i'm waiting for the brother-inlaw to tell me what he reckon's [?]. i spotted this 'hose' and could not tell where it goes to??. anyone know what it's for?? it's in middle of pic next to the nut/bolt. thanks

Looking at a BF wagon in the drive way, looks like maybe emotions control. can see the pipe your referring to and its connected to a solenoid looking valve thing. that pipe you have pictured is connected to the bottom of the valve another out the top to the manifold (quick trace) and a pair of wires going off somewhere most likely PCM.

Ours is duel fuel aswell-they have to start on petrol before they can switch to lpg.

oh ok ... did yours make a sound like an air compresser after being [not straight away .. maybe after 20/30 seconds?] started & from somewhere between the rear of the inlet manifold/firewall/ABS unit :?: . starting on petrol her's can get to end of crt before switch to LPG .... and still run crappy. anyway upper manifold is off, may need to 'move' ABS unit to follow vacumm lines so i can see/workout what that 'line' is  :?:

in 1st pic & 2nd pic there is a part/section broken off. where the section for small plastic tubing to fit, there should be another on opposite side. hence why the 'chaff cutter' sound coz when the solenoid opened it sucked air in per each cylinder intake

have taken one off the AU1 parts car. chucked it on the multimeter to check it's ohm range & it measures in the BF range, plus has same plug [comparing visually!] so it will going in shortly. hope it's easy to get the broken piece of the line  mount solenoid somewhere 'solid' & refit upper intake manifold ..... have a gasket [not original metal gasket] so do i need ta put a 'small' amount of sealant on it 1st before fitting??

You shouldn't really need anything else (its the paper/cardboard type?)if mating surfaces are flat-i have one I'll be using too.can anyone elaborate if this correct?
After your ruff running post-I noticed same noise + ruff idle you mentioned (in my ute) & sure enough broken hose to charcoal canister

I was always taught by a older bloke that use gasket dope (gasket cement Loctite No4) on nearly all gaskets.
