Hey guys, just picked up a new motor for my ef, and on the drive back home my overflow cap burst off, stopped off at Repco, got a new one, and replaced coolant, started overheating again, I removed the cap, and the temp stayed low, any idea what would be causing it? I don't want to be driving around without a cap for to long

Blocked radiator ? Faulty water pump / Thermostat ?

Could possibly be a headgasket... Mine did the exact same thing, and on 2 cars with stuffed heads! If coolant is leaking into the chamber hydraulic pressure will over pressurize the system shooting it out the overflow tank.

Check for blockages first. Are you losing coolant very slowly by any chance?? Head gaskets don't need to mix in with oil and blow white smoke to be leaking.

Ok, so I replaced the thermostat, still overheating, I have another engine that I got from a guy on here, will be getting a vrs kit tomorrow, and will start rebuilding it, and am ordering a 52 mm radiator, hopefully that stops all the overheating issues
