Hey guys have just changed my cam in my EF XR6 to a Wade 1673, and now car runs like a bag of s**t it wont idle properly so had to winde the idle up a little bit just so it would run. Have checked over everything and all seems to be good ie plugs together vacc hoses put on etc. Anybody got Ideas on what else to check??? I have also let the ECU "learn" for about ten mins at the new idle speed. Cheers for your help

Sounds like the cam timing might be retarded a bit, maybe one or two teeth out?

Na the cam timing is fine had it at TDC and never took chain off during swap, tied the chain sproket tight to the bonnet...any other ideas?

Ok so assuming the cam is set up right etc, you need to disconnect the battery for a while (30 mins), then the ECU will re learn. You will also need to bump up the idle as you have or it wont run at all.
First time that cam went in my car it ran like a piece of s**t for half a tank (which went quickly), then gradually got better. It wont 'learn' just idling, you need to drive it, normally, half throttle, full throttle etc.
