Hey guys, discovered an annoying tapping lifter so will be replacing the rear 3 lifters..

just a few questions,

-are there any guides out there that show how it should be done?

-should i change/replace anything else while i have the engine semi-apart?

-where is the best place to purchase after-market lifter?

-any other tips/advice that might be useful to me

thanks,

you are better off changing all of them at once, you will need to shop around to get the best price.. last time i did this (about 3 months ago) was to a mates car ended up getting them for $14 each (u'll need 12) through repco..

I put in some repco ones a year ago, which is about 20,000km.
About 2 of them now have a tap at idle - annoying & getting worse.
Bought a new set from local engine reconditioner - 12bucks each.

put run in lube on the bottom of lifters it like a paste then once you have car back together bump up idle to around 1500 rpm for 10 to 20 mins this will run in the lifters to the cam you allso do this when installing a new cam

the "lifters" in an OHC I6 dont touch the cam. why would one need to run them in?
