Hey guys.

Just wanted to know what's involved in a dizzy to coil pack conversion and whether it's as simple as replacing one for the other or if it's more complicated.

Looking forward to some comments!

lol if its anything like tring to do it in a v8 dnt bother. why do u want to change them... just buy a whole el motor and run that with all the acc. comp and loom. prob b easier. other wise im figuring ud have to loom match stuff and that sucks. and then ud have to either get the e series edit or some other tunable chip... ie unichip tweecer etc.

some one correct me if im wrong. which i mite be...

you would have to convert to EF ECU or a programable one, there would be a s**t of wiring that would need to be done. In the end its probably not worth it.....

Changing from dizzy to coilpack wouldn't give you much gain for your money and at least with dizzy, you can change the timing if you ever want to. If your serious about this, maybe you could investigate a way of implementing coil-on ignition for each spark plug.

you can contact dyno tunz brownsplains qld they have a new proven ems fully tunable aftermarket ecu for 1200 or with built in drivers for coil conversions or the race version with 8 drivers for individual firing and timing adjustment and fully tunable its an e.m.s sytsem and they cover 99 percent of the cars evermade . this is a new pproduct and is a bit better than alltronic :D

The AU HAS COIL PACK! The el was the only falcon to go back to the distributor.
Otherwise they wouldnt have been able to run sequential injection on the au's and shut down cylinders on demand when the engine gets too hot ;)

You'll need to change to an EF ECU loom, and EF ECU for starters.

You'll need the cam angle sensor and the crank angle sensor setup also.

Its not really worth the time or effort - keep what you've got

Thanks for the advice, from what I have seen I'll just stick to the dizzy.
