Gday,
I have an EB1 sedan cfi. Recently when the engine is at full running temp, the power light on the dash starts to flash at 1 sec intervals. Once the light starts to flash, acceleration become troublesome. When lightly accelerating a grinding noise seems to come from the tailshaft/transmission and the car doesn't move off properly. The power light stops flashing when the brakes are applied then it resumes flashing when I move off. Any help is appreciated. - Leigh

That is a bad sign....That is trans overheating.....think that would also bring limp home mode on. Explains bad launch you are stuck in 3rd gear.
Fix your cooling do not let your car get that hot. It will kill your auto box... and probably do harm to the motor... Head gasket or head.

Thanks mate. I kinda knew it was serious... Can I just chuck a trans radiator on it like the one I had on the XF? Or is it not possible with this car?

yep like he said ^^^, probably burnt fluid, give it a fluid change and new filter, might even be worth fitting a trans cooler.

Yes chuck on a Trans cooler and get your trans serviced. the oil will be rooted.. Also look at getting your radiator serviced...If its getting that hot.

would be a good idea to give your trans a full service also..

Cheers guys. The trans had fluid and filter changed less than 3000k's ago when it got a gasket leak fixed. Ill go check the fluid now, and look into a trans cooler asap.

Anyone have a suitable tranny radiator for sale? Would prefer to get a 2nd hand one if possible.
