I was waiting for a comment like that......only minutes after my run, an FG XR6 ute had a run with an aftermarket exhaust...got 245 rwhp.

Your motor stock @ the fly = 150kw
FG = 195kw.
FG put down 183kw at the wheels.

??
So it nearly put down at the wheels what it has at the fly. Stock?

I reckon thats pretty reasonable. My dead stock ED auto, with only a serpentine conversion and in operative BBM (only works on the short runners) and it made a lazy 94.9. Its also done a lazy 200000kays, had a head gasket at 179000.

Cheers
Brett

I put down the video evidence for all to see......and, yes all the mods I have done are listed, and in my garage section as well. I thought ED's had about 147/8 kw at the fly???
I'm building another engine...very slowly....and I'm hoping for 200 rwkw...N/A too....No NOS.....waiting for my new house to be built..... :( ...been waiting 4 months and not started yet.

Yeh I wasnt doubting that you got a dyno readout of 150.
148s close enough, I cbf googling it before.

Point was dyno seems to be reading pretty high - for a new, stock, car to be losing just over 10kw thru the driveline, 6% loss.

thats a good dyno figure, EB2 had 148kw, ED had 145kw don't no why it lost 3kw though

The FG was reported to have an "after market exhaust", which could included high flow cat. A fair bit can be picked up on just opening up the exhaust on a factory car, so it's possible that with the exhaust it is showing only 6% less than stock flywheel power at the rear's.....

I have extractors & a full sports exhaust, cold air intake mods, slightly fiddled timing, shaved head & a T5 conversion, last time i was on a dyno it read 130 rwkw. No idea when the dyno was last tuned for accuracy, but the first run i had done on that dyno, bog stock with the auto, was 90rwkw. This was a dyno at the lpg place for tuning the ecu as the car is being driven, under load.

As i said, no idea on how accurate the 130rwkw is, but it shows my mods have made a decent improvement over what i had before the mods. The OP may find the car isn't getting good enough fuel mixtures to make good power with the new cam, and a J3 chip should see the car pick up some power, with a good tune.

Cheers

the same old dyno argument. They are a tuning tool, not a perfect indicator of power. Many things can effect the outcome, you can get varied results easily enough on different dyno's on different days. If the op wants to up his power without spending a fortune just needs to find a happier dyno :P (taking the piss) Personally Id expect a bit more on average from that setup, but you could have an issue somewhere that is unknown to you, or the dyno was just being harsh. Having the cam untuned will definately be holding you back, the ignition timing and fuel mixtures will all be out for that cam.

1/4 mile time will give you a better idea of power. Take the old girl for a run down the drag strip robby, and report back the best time and the guys here should be able to say wether the figure you got was accurate or not.

the bloke at the garage said on average, stock auto Ed's make 90-100rwkw on that dyno
i guess ill use that as a reference point, hopefully the j3 tune will bump up the power slieghtly

That's close to the figure i have heard thrown around at a few dyno equipped workshops, which is 80 - 100 rwkw.

Cheers

recently had the ED back on the dyno for another go
with a j3 chip. EL ECU, larger intake piping and a replacement throttle cable it made 125.9rwkw
drives like a completely different car

Not a bad result for an auto with a mild cam.

I'll give you my car if you get 200rwkw N/A without a 6 pack.

6 pack as in ITB's or carbys like 45 DCOE's?

It might be possible with a larger than stock throttle body. Might meaning i have not seen it, but i won't say it couldn't happen either.

Cheers

Really ???????
Your doubting my abilities ????.....and you have seen the evidence of the ability.
I just found out yesterday that they ( building mob ) are now getting on with building my house.....but only after I went to a Lawyer to get my point accross, first.
Here's a sneek peek at the crank, and the head.
