Hi, wondering if someone has any ideas?
EF Futura 6 cyl. Whilst driving developed a miss. Discovered no spark on 6. Leads O.K. plugs O.K.
Replaced coil pack (easy to access - not) now have spark on all 6, no missing whilst driving but idles terrible.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,

Is there a miss at idle, or is it just idling low?

Have you reset the error codes in the ECU after replacing the coil pack?

There is a bad miss at idle. If i disconnect plug leads one at a time whilst idling, on 1 to 5 engine miss increases. When i disconnect plug lead on 6, no noticeble difference. Possible dirty injector?

No i have not reset ECU, worth trying?

Thanks again.

first thing I'd do is make sure you haven't got a lead around the wrong way :P I've done it b4 and u get a miss.

next try disconnecting No.6 injector, the idle should drop. if it doesn't try a new injector.

to reset the ecu just disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour. Alot of people will tell you otherwise but this will do the trick.

As for checking the error codes of the ecu check out the technical documents, insturctions are in there.

Goodluck mate.
