hi there guys would like to know if anyone out there has any idea as to what this noise is i have. it seems to be coming from around the back of the motor/gearbox area. not sure whether it is flex plate or whether its something else. it happens while the car is running, at idle its worse but dont notice it as much while im driving. any ideas or suggestions please would be great.

What kind of noise? Rattling? Ticking?

Possibly loose converter bolts? Cant be certain, just an idea :wink:

yeah i tried the torque converter bolts all is good inspected flex plate looks ok but not sure about where it bolts on the crankshaft do you think it could crack around there.

Check your cat. They rattle when the honeycomb falls apart inside them and also check it's not rattling against the gearbox due to a worn support hanger.

Its possible, i've read about the flexplate cracking around where the bolts mount it to the crank, cant remember if it was on Fordmods or another forum though.

Try what EL_Fairmont suggested, and check the cat and the hanger to rule it out if isnt that
