Straight from the EL manual.

Key On Engine Off mode.

1- Ensure that engine is at operating temperature, the tranmission is in nuetral, and all accessories are off. (never mind the operating temp bit)

2- Connect an LED test lamp between terminal C (white/black wire) and terminal V (white/black wire) on the diagnosis connector.

3- Bridge terminal A (white/red wire) and terminal B (black/white wire) on the diagnosis connector and turn the ignition on

4- The hard codes will be displayed first. Disregard any initial flickering of the test lamp at the start of the self diagnosis as this is used only for dedicated test equipment.

5- If more than one hard code is set, the codes will be grouped numerically with each code seperated by a 4 second pause. The group will repeat once after the last code.

6- After the second display of the hard codes, a 6 second pause will precede the seperator code (single flash).

7- The memory codes will be displayed 6 seconds after the seperator code.

8- If more than one memory code is set, the codes will be grouped numerically with each code seperated by a 4 second pause. The group will repeat once after the last code.

9- After the memory codes have been displayed on XR6 models, check the inlet manifold valve control system and A/C clutch operation as follows:

a: With the ignition still in the on position, move the throttle from closed position to full throttle and back to closed position.

b: The inlet manifold valve control diaphragm should move to the operational position and the A/C clutch should engage.

c: Repeat step a, the the diaphragm and A/C clutch should de-activate.

10- With the ignition still in the on position and if code 111 is displayed, the operation of the engine cooling fans can be checked by shifting the tranmission from nuetral to another gear. Both fans should operate on low speed.

11- If it is neccassary to read the codes again, turn the ignition off for atleast 15 seconds and repeat the operation.

Pretty sure if you just join the 2 wires that go to the nuetral switch together, this will complete the circuit.

What beeping is it?

I think you should turn the ign to on, and then try putting a positve straight from the battery to the starter terminal and just see if it starts.

No spark still either hmmm.

I'd probably diagnose that smartlock is working properly, and,

Did any of the donor looms have anything resembling an alarm system?

Your right, it will be something small been missed, although i've never heard that beeping from my car. Thats a different one.

I would try another BEM, and/or ECU. You could easily have a faulty.
