ive got a massive problem.at 3000rpm to 3500rpm the ar stutters (coughs) does my head in its like hitting the limiter then i push it abit more clears up then does same thing in the next gear. it does it in both petrol and lpg any ideas im thinking electrical problem only does it at those revs so harmonic balancer? or maybe dizzy any ideas has this happened to any of you guys before??

does it idle rough and slow smooths out till 3k then perfect after that? if so it your harmonic balancer
mine did this for a while till i noticed it moved way to easy on a check after replacement was done it was fine

no its smooth before 3000rpm then once it touches 3k it stutters.ill record it tomorrow and will post on youtube.

as i already said does it on both lpg and petrol so cant be.

Get a timing light put it in diagnostic mode to check timing .
Could be plugs,leads, coil, tfi module.

Sounds like it's not a fuel problem, so must be ignition related .

ill change plugs and leads in the next few days leads are perfect only bought them afew months ago.could it be the dizzy or the harmonic balancer?

a bad harmonic balancer wont make the engine miss it will just make it vibrate.
how old is the dizzy cap and rotor button??

well bloke swapped them over from my old motor so wouldnt have a clue does it mainly when cars warmed up abit.

Your going to have fun if it's the dizzy cap.
I got to mine while the head was off and it was still tricky to get the cap of with out damaging it.

Check that the hose to the Map sensor isn't loose , when mine fell off it wa like it had a 1521a in it lol

If it takes you ages or you damage the distributor cap while removing, you're doing something really wrong.

I have no issues removing the cap off the distributor. Removing the whole distributor however, might be more difficult.

Tap the cat/mufflers with a spanner, if it sounds like something is vibrating, you might have a caved in muffler/cat internals causing blockages.

hahaha phong the cat is empty so i dont think it could be that.and it only happens at 3000rpm.it has its days thought some times ill drive it around and you wont even notice it but more often you can.

i have no problem at all taking the dizzy cap off, takes a couple seconds, i guess ive done it so many times this fortnite that i can do it asleep drunk with my hands behind my back using only my teeth :|
