Ok i need a dizzy for my car to get it up and running and i just got this one off ebay, opened the packet and its cracked in the cap ! Now i wouldnt have a problem returning it, IF i didnt need my car asap ! It only looks like its just a crack and both upper and underside seem fine !
Will the affect the starting/running of the car? Picture is not working but it only cracked around one of the nodes, the node moves a little but sits ok !

Will a second hand cap be bad? Eg i have a new Dizzy will a second hand Cap mess with it? what do i look for in a good one?

your better off going and buying a new cap.. cost around$15 |

going down the the wreckers soon, i will see if i can get one that looks good if not ill have to get a new one !
One more question what does inside the dizzy look like? Because when i took the cap off this one it has the big conductor thing and thats it nothing but a grey slope all round, but in my manual it looks like it looks different on the inside !

it sounds like your discribing the lower half of the cap/cap base..
is it the same colour as the cap?? |

email the seller and have him send u a new cap, use your original cap until u get it.
did u sign for it damaged or notify him it was? |

My mums partner signed and no i didnt email him but i will now ! Im just more concerned about if things go wrong and the drive gear from this dizzy kills my Aux Shaft

i bought a dizzy from ebay a while ago and had the same problem, i emailed the guy and he said he would give me a discount if i bought another dizzy, i hope you dont have the same guy.

my dizzy has been in over 12 months now, no probs, brother inlaws dizzy is 10 months now too. we never changed the gears over either.
remember to tell your mechanic dont force the dizzy in, let it slip in nice and easy. may need 2 people to fit it, 1 to gently push the dizzy in, 1 to click the key to crank it over a little and line up with the aux shaft. |
