Last week up here on the north coast as some of you might know we got a pretty bad storm. Well anyway it claimed many cars one being my baby. My EF XR6 got smashe to pieces. Rear window completly smashed in, every panel got dints in it mainly the roof and bonnet, i got board the other day i counted the dints in the bonnet it came to around 100. It broke my heart when i saw it after the storm, as i was stuck 100km away working. The insurance company wrote it off on friday and took it. Anyway got some pics and just wanted to know if anyone else up around this area copped it.

Shame bout the car! Timely reminder of the power of mother nature! Pity she wasn't tucked up in a nice solid garage or carport!

I'd hate to say that was easily and cheaply fixable.

If you have the opportunity, take your payout and buy the car back off the insurance company. Then take it to a paintless dent removal joint and they will fix it and you will never know its been damaged. Chances are they will be quite busy due to the recent storms, but it will and can be fixed.

And you'll most likely walk out with alot of spare change in your pocket as a bonus.

They sucks dude but seriously buy the thing back cheap and get it all fixed up. Least you know what has been done to that car.
Come to think of it, it will take alot of force to take out a rear window.

the paint might be fubar in some spots though from the dents. I've been in the smash repairers when theyve pulled dints, and the paints cracked. still, beats a corolla!

I doubt the paint would be fubar.

A proper dent remover - not some s**t kicker at a panel joint - will have the right attitude and patience to do the job properly. Like the bloke who did my car. They don't "pull" dents but softly massage the metal straight again from the inside.

Even if he did damage the paint, there'd be a s**t money left over to get panels repainted. Probably have the whole car repainted, and still have some pocket change.

jus readin over this, takes me back to dealership days, just the slightest hint of a hail storm coming and they would hide all the cars on the lot in the workshops and put all the customers cars in the carpark, haha. tight a**'s
