Ive been searching but cant find posts with head & additives inthe same post, i just cant learn the freaKIN search feature properly. I am at my wits end. My EBII is leaking coolant, internally, after a couple of short trips(@15kms all up) theres water dripping put the tailpipe. Which reinforces my guess that the leak is in the head, water's leaking into a cylinder, and its leaking on the exhaust stroke. Misfiring too, on idle. Was searching, found this:http://www.smitsgroup.com.au/HG-3/
I only need a temp fix, until i get my money to get heads replaced on my other car--then do this car properly.
Im ranting now.
Any experience, opinions on temp stop leak additives in this area.?? pleaseee??

Just be careful with them.
Some sealants end up everywhere inside and can cause some troubles when it comes time to fix it properly.

I used seal-up or seal-it. Something. Was in a small bottle with mettalic flakes sitting at the bottom.
I used it 2 times in 40 000ks. Stopped the leak the whole time. Blocked my radiator tho.
Make sure you drain you're coolant. Flush the whole system with water till it runs clear and when you put the sealer in there let it run for much longer then they say.
Any coolant in the system will stop the sealent from attaching.

You need to be carful with all that crap.

They are incredibly abrasive, if any gets in the cylinders through the leak it will cause major wear around the rings/ring lands.

Wel ive bought the stuff:"seals cracks permantly- blocks, heads, radiators, heater cores, welsh plugs.
Also got another 15L of coolant, for after the 'flush & seal'.
So Im going ahead with it now lol. If it gets me thru a couple of months I'll be happy, then Ill have my other car fixed.
I was going to buy a radiator flush,
but i read in a search that you can use something from the supermarket, dissolve in water instead.
Anyone know what it is they were talking about?
Also need to do a search on how to flush my rad. thoroughly too.
So, search function & google 2nite---work 2moro

thnx for the input by the way guys.

Just make sure you give the chemicals time to work.
Dunno what supermarket produck they are talking about. Its probably vinegar or draino or something...wouldn't trust it. I probably wouldn't chemicaly flush it straight away after either cos it may remove the sealent.

I used chemiweld on my 6 for over 18 months lol. Was just waiting for it to start pushing water again which it did last week so its engine out now. It does go through the whole coolant system so pulling it apart things like the radiator have chemiweld in it too. Still for a quick fix it worked better than expected, i just wouldnt drive the car hard afterwards either.
