Hey guys, I have been given a cam for my ef, however we do not know the actual specs for it..as it has been sitting in a garage for awile. All we know is that apparently its the biggest cam you can run on a standard computer.. we have no idea of the make or model. Does anyone know how we can indentify it?

cheers

As far as I know, camshaft product numbers/codes are usually stamped on the ends of the camshaft. Have a look the surface on the end that gets in contact with the sprocket...might have some sort of engraved markings etc.

That cam picked up quite a bit of surface rust, must of been sitting for a while hey

If it has been reground, it usually has the cam profile/grind number along with the companies initials or name in some cases.. Like Phong has stated, check the sprocket end of the cam to see if there is anything stamped or engraved there.

Would look something like this..

Usually it should have the factory model number on the cam i think to indicate what model its from i.e 91DA (EB model) etc.
