How vital is it that the retaining bolts for the rocker gear are torqued to the correct setting? I don't have a torque wrench, I have just changed the lifters but they are not shutting up, and I am thinking of getting a torque wrench tomorrow and doing them exactly to spec. Would the wrong tension cause the rockers to not sit on the valve springs incorrectly, therefore making it run slightly rough with noisy lifters?

What is the correct torque setting for the retaining bolts?

most of the time you'll pull some threads if you use the actual torque setting. Most people dont bother and never have an issue

Interesting. The lifters don't seem to be shutting up. How long should they take? I Drove it around for about 50 kms yesterday and it didn't quieten down. Should I be able to push down/pull up on the rockers or should the lifters hold them firm?

Are the holes in the sides of the lifters bleed holes? Should I try bleeding them? I didn't prime/bleed them before the install.

Thanks very much.

You mean move? No idea. Not that I noticed. How do I check?

How long should the lifters take to shut up assuming all is ok?

I don't really know what else to do from here. It runs fine, just noisy.

Also, is it normal to have significantly less oil on the rocker gear over the last cylinder (next to firewall)?
