If money was no object and you could do anything you wanted to a 4L what would you do to your motor.

for me it would be a big a*** cam 700- 800thou lift if possible
mechanical methanol injection
custom blower setup 8/71 running 100% overdrive

It would have to be n/a for something different.

I'm thinking 12.5:1 compression, some forgies made up with shorter skirts, new rods, crank with possible slight reduction in stroke, head with custom adjustable rocker set up and solid cam so it could be revved...something with a little over 250 duration @ 50 and 550ish valve lift, and headwork to suit. Wouldn't see the underside of 3000rpm much...

A 300 or 400 shot of gas wouldn't go astray either. Run it through a tko 500 box a brass button clutch and 3.7 diff gears hello sideways action bye bye tires

I would throw it in the bin and fit a stroked and cammed V8 with a big supercharger.

hmm,... Bored and stroked 4.7ltr BF Typhoon motor, custom pistons, rods, crank, cams, as smooth as i can get on the ports (exhaust etc...) custom manifold redo a full stand alone ECU, Fuel cell, ITB's, custom Twin turbo manifold, two HKS T62R Turbo's externally gated (mmm, $4750US a piece) 3" full straight through exhaust to a HKS Titanium muffler, 1000cc injectors etc... and all that would be shoehorned into my EF Ghia, oh and a stealth cooler setup, i'd want it to be as sleeper as possible till it hits boost and you hear the gates open
Also, Trust 10 row Transmission oil cooler, Fully rebuilt ZF6spd behind it, and a Trust 12 row Engine oil cooler with a filter relocation kit as well.

im sure ill add more to the list later, but thats a start.

If only

If money was no object I would..

Do some development, I would start of with building a square motor, I would look at making a reproduction block, Alloy with a 4 inch, possibly 4.125 inch bore. I would leave the stroke standard, but i would go a custom steel crank, 4 bolt mains. I would look at doing the DOHC conversion, possibly reproduction style head but with alot more clamping force with larger headstuds, get a massive amount of time spent porting. Would have lowish comp but filled with the best parts available.

Would then look at At a large agricultural sized turbo for the mill, possibly a 88mm unit, car would run blow thru carb, methanol would look at cracking 1000rwhp, possiby fitted in a cortina, then taken up the strip to the 7 second zone.

But if I had that money.... I wouldnt bother with a 6.... Hell i cant even do it now :D

Im assuming this is for p platers.

Is it true you can make a 6 cylinder more powerful then a v8?

Easy as. Alot of stock 5L are being eaten by the 6 cylinder brigade.

But when you start throwing money at both, the 6 cylinder reaches limitations earlier, but forced induction on either will give incredible results.
