Another Quick Q:
my I6 uses a bit more oil than it should (i just thought it would because its worked) and the oil pressure when starts is around 3-4 but when warm its around 7+ im using Shell Helix 20w-50. sould i change?

how much oil do you fill it up with?
like when changing oil.. how many litres do i use to refil it? or is that in the handbook thingy? |

I use Shell Helix Ultra (5W40) and its been used on the Ef for aslong as the previous owner has
I think its good. BTW DONT use any castrol oil what so ever. If any of you know anything about it what happens is it sticks to the motor and blocks of holes where the oil is supposed to flow. Castrol dont put solvents in the oil and this is where you get teh magnatec from. GTX is the worst of the lot.

don't tell me that.. i just got myself a bottle of that stuff to chuck in my car...
altho i will be changing the oil again once i have the turbo setup running... |

I just bought some Motul 4100 10W40 today for my car, cheap as chips compared to all the other synthetic oils! Also the guy said it is a really great oil, and recommended it for both NA and tubo applications. Are there any disadvantages (apart from the cost) of using a fully synthetic oil in your engine? As someone said the castrol fully synthetic GTX can actually clog up your oil galleries

ok im confused
i have a stage 5 its performance motor and asked mark what oil to use out of the castrol edge range which he suggested to use and he said the 10w 60 is ok but after reading this im confused is 10w 60 ok for my motor?? its only done 15000-20000kms and i wanna keep it running smick!! |

Hey trying to choose a new oil and this thread has helped. but should i go penrite HPR15 (15w/60) or mobil 1 (0w-40)

my eb has done 315,000km the bottom end is getting a bit noisey when hot so would the 10w-60w be better im using the hpr 15w-50w semi synthetic at the moment.
