How good was the workmanship from the guys at JMM.

After a few kms have been whacked on how is the motor and other components going eg: gear box etc.

Seems that some like them other says the motors eventually need rebuilds.....

I suppose it depends how many kays you motor has done and what shape it's in.
I bought my car with 125 000 kays, with a DEV 3hl kit with DEV 5 cam and race headers fitted at 120 000 by the owner. He then took it to JMM to have it dynoed and a new fan clutch. the car now has 132 000 kays and the only problem I've had has been a stretched head bolt around the number 6 cylinder.
This was replaced last week and it hasn't missed a beat since!!
By the way my car is an ED XR6 5 speed

Previous Dev5a owner here.

Put the kit on with 200,000 on the clock, obviously with high comp and race-car driving around the city, the bottom end was finished by 250,000. Good life for a stock bottom end regardless.

Workmanship was good. Disappointed that the rattly timing chain was never resolved (due to head machining!).

Never saw the car do its claimed 180RWKW on any other dyno other than JMM, but it was definantly up there.

Thats my only negative with my dev5. It only rattles between 2000-2200rpm though.

I had a Mazda 929 turbo that when the head was reco'd the thing developeed a rattle. Could not resolve that either.I got rid of it after the headbolts lifted & blew a headgasket & some welsh plugs blew out

I heard from guys that have had work done by JMM that they are happy with the workmanship even though their Dyno readings show higher readings compared to other dyno's.

it's a common thing with these heads when shaved to much.
the fix is head shim and higher comp pistons if you want to keep the compression you had.

my engine does it with any other that the XR cam. i've had 2 other engines do it as well both had 1004 cam and shaved heads
