Was in autobarn yesterday having a look around when I noticed some 'performance kits' that they hed. They were by a brand called splitfire and they contained

6 * Spark Plugs
6 * Leads
1 * Pannel filter
$367 for EL

Hardly a surprise, the salesman who saw me looking proceeded to tell me how the plugs and leads are unreal and better than any of his other lead kits blah blah blah and that the panel filter was equivalent to a K&N.

I went to do a bit more reading about this 'splitfire' brand but couldn't find very much at all about them on the web. Has anybody used their products or does anyone know the URL for their homepage?

If the products are everything the salesman claimed then it is a reasonable price IMHO. If they're just middle of the road products in a pretty packet then yes, it's a rip

Lets give the product benefit of the doubt and assume they are premo items...

Plugs (assume platinum?): $100?
Leads (assume 10.5mm?): $60-80?
Filter (assume K&N equivalent?): $160?

So the price of the pack was probably within the ballpark of being reasonable....

Are you sure the brand wasnt splitfire? They seem to generate a lot more hits for leads, plugs and filters on google. Were the leads blue?

Umm.. the spark is generated by a very high voltage, yet low current charge.. so I dont see how they can come up with a comparison about Amperage!

Thanks Waggin.

Their Brochure contains a lot of really cool looking statements, but it's difficult to determine what is actually useful information and what is just marketing crap...
