BA-BF 6s dont have underdrive 'pulleys' as such either, just an underdriven crank pulley.

different sized pulleys on the belts to "free up" engine power instead of driving the pulleys

the theory behind them is that the waterpump, alt and power steer etc.. are all over driven anyway so that they work at full capacity at idle, so you can under drive them a little bit with hardly any effect on the accessories, but to free up the horsepower used to drive the accessories..

Whilst they might not make a specific underdrive kit, You may be able to source various pulleys that will fit that are smaller than the originals and will cause them to be underdriven. An example of this is, on my 5 litre V8 EF, I fitted an idler pulley off a Commodore because it was made of steel and the ford one was plastic, I think the most important things to check is the pulley width, the offset, and the internal diameter, if it's smaller and it fits, use it, but you need to make sure you dont underdrive things too much, The Falcon has a pretty standard power steering pump, so you might find that something from another manufacturer fits, for example, I know Chrysler and Holden used versions of the same pump, as did Cadillac in the states, the same goes for the alternator too, the one I think you'll have the most problems with is the water pump.

Of course you would want the accessory pulleys larger, or the main pulley smaller, riiiight?

I can get 15% underdrive balancers for AU 6 cyl, but we need to arrange a group buy of 10 minumum.
They will work out to just under $300 each for the balancer only + pp. You would also need to locate a suitable length belt to suit.

how much of a gain would be had? and these would fit the e series aswell?
would be good if someone already had a belt size so we knew what to use,

gains can vary, underdrives generally will give average 5-10hp over std.
I cant advise a belt length because the last time we used the underdrive on an au motor we did not run the aircond

not worth it really, when the standard balancer is only $100 brand new and the fancy one only gains 5-10hp. unless someone was chasing every single horsepower possible out of their engine
