(copy-paste from AFF)

Hi,

My girlfriend is driving my car in the city & just called me, my BF (with liquid injection LPG) was idling like crap on both gas and petrol (premium) and the MIL light came on. She's freaking out.

Now I've found the other threads in the (AFF) Territory section regarding how the cats can let go and trip the sensors & subsequently the MIL light, and how it's OK to drive providing there's no difference in behaviour, but my big concern is that the car is now idling terribly.

I've been driving the car all week on gas with zero problems and the tank was 3/4 full when she took it to Melbourne, and I'd filled the petrol tank two weeks ago so it's definitly used a bit of petrol with no dramas.

Can anyone advise with WTF is going on?

Cheers

Oh, it has a standard exhaust & cat, car's done 150k, is driven on LPG 80% of the time with the occasional 20-50km drive on petrol.

Update - gf elaborated & said the car began to idle crap, but the more she drove it, the car then was driving "like a tractor" and is now undrivable.

Waiting for RACV...

Anyway that kills the whole "URGENT" factor as I was initially wondering whether crap idle/OK to drive was "safe" to risk driving home...

Umm, problem solved?

According to my gf, the RACV guy rocks up, starts car, problem gone. WTF.

Anyway it seems that there was a random battery fault which munted the ECU's tune(???) and upon restarting the tune was reset and fine. There's a bit of confusion over the phone with my gf, I'm under the impression that she'd already turned off/ re-started the car & the problem had persisted. Anyway, it's sounding to me like the problem's gone for now and if it happens again it can just be fixed by turning off/on again...
