Not really lol. I used to have no chip with the 1673 and my economy was fine, as in less than 12L/100km, and ran okay but I just had to set the idle a touch higher than normal.

hey gezza, how did you go about getting your J3 chip and how much did it set u back?
i got a quote from CVE performance who said they do dyno tuning which included 2 runs and a chip for $550
where as TI performance can send me out a chip for $150ish? plus the price of a dyno run ofcourse
Why is there such a difference in price??

cheers

I got mine done for $850 but its a SCT Chip witch do they same thing but are more expensive. The reason it cost $550 is because CVE are doing real time tuning instead of looking at a dyno sheet and giving you a tune to suit. CVE might do 10+ dyno runs to get your car spot on.

Price difference is the dyno runs and custom tune!!!

for someone whos still at school and doesnt have that much money to play around with, i think the T.I tune might be the way to go, as against the real time tune. What am i missing out on?

There isn't alot really, but a proper tune is always better as its suits your car and you will get that little bit extra power and economy. But if you have the chip you can go to CVE later on to get a proper tune when you have the money.

Yeh but that doesnt effect how the car actually runs. Somethings a bit NQR if its not running okay with no chip in it.
