Hey I got a EF XR6 bout 166000km on it, has genie extractors and a 2 1/2 inch exhorst. Also on its was is a recond 4 speed with a shift kit and 2500 stall. Looking at putting a Cam in and was wondering on people sugestions. Was just wondering what other mods i should do when the heads off. I want it to go resonably hard but do want to change the computer or have it cost an arm and a leg.
Also if you have a basic price or websites to check that would be great.

For $200 I would highly recommend a TI Performance J3 chip - will help you get the best out of whatever cam you choose.
Also you dont remove the head to fit a cam.

+1

You dont need to get anything done to your head as its an already updated (from standard) tickford head. So no need to remove it to install the cam.

With the high stall you have, you can go an aggressive cam that would normally require the car to be a manual.

Pick out the right cam and get a J3 chip to enable the ECU to be tuned to suit you new cam.
