When i got mine installed on the EA, the dude put them in the air vents near the windscreen. From what I've read, they were probably a few too many inches away from the splits for optimum sound quality.

i would suggest either on the a-pillar or in the vents.

Air vents? are you sure your not thinking of the factory tweeter spot, as ef/el Fairmont up atleast had them factory in the dash, and i though ea-ed did to I could be wrong though.

You could try to put it where the kick panel are?? And have you read the tech docu that is kindly available:
http://www.fordmods.com/forums/Speaker- ... t-d63.html
Its got some good ideas for speaker placements.
Hope that helps.

Nah dude, 6.5's in the door, tweeters in the vents.

My car was an EA, there was no factory spot.

Kick panel or the door is a good place for them. or could replace the parcel shelf speakers with it. but id go for more powerful ones for the parcel shelf. you know if you've seen how they go on the kick panels they look bloody great.

On my EL, I have put mine are on the plastic piece at the top of the door trim, there the mirror is, and the midwoofer is in the pod (there is another speaker in the factory hole).

Cheers
Chris

Mine were a little bit of work fitting but i think would have been better if i sprayed them grey to match the door trim.

I bought them off another member. He made them for his EB. I had to modify them to go onto my EL door trims.

i know its a bit late now, but have a look at how i put mine in. i've got the alpine type S splits. I know its where you've got yours now, but mine are bolted into the panel. ;)

Image

perfect sound imaging and brilliant tone sitting where they are now.
