I'm thinking of switching out my BA's front bumper to an SR's - I'm sick of the bland XT-style black bar across the front of an otherwise good-looking car. (IMO)
I'm wondering if a BF SR front bumper would attach to my 2004 BA, and how I would go about sourcing one? I'm thinking wreckers may be my only option, I can't find any aftermarket imitations.

mate, ba and bf bumpers are interchangeable. one thing to watch is bf series 2 also has different headlights, grill and bonnet. someone correct me if im wrong, but i think the bf1 sr front bumper is the same as the bf1 falcon. to find one, i would think wreckers, quokka, or ebay. i dont know about you folks over east, but we have a company here that buys alot of bumpers from insurance companies when they replace a front end. they plastic weld them back up, paint and fit them for a decent price. mostly they service the taxi industry, but do private sales too. possibly try looking for plastic welding companies or googling bumpers in your area.

Yeah I've looked into it - bf1 futura, xt and sr bumpers are identical. Which is good, because finding an xt bumper is going to be a lot easier than finding an sr one. Cheers!

lol if only you were after this about 3 months ago, i sold my BF 1 SR front bar (it did have the lower grille cut slightly for the nudge bar to come through) for $150. But yes as you said the xt and bf 1 sr front bars are exactly the same

Do the SR bumpers have the chrome strip that runs around the front on the Futuras? I assume BF1 Futuras have those too?

Nah the SR's dont, i picked some up on ebay for about $35 and just stuck it on myself, on certain colours it looks really good. Its only the "luxury" falcons that get the strip

Was the stuff on eBay a genuine piece or just generic? I might just rip the stuff off mine and put it on the new bumper.

nah it was generic but still looked just a good at the real stuff. Because i smashed my front bar when i had the generic stuff on the insuance company replaced it with the genuine stuff when they put the new bar on lol the generic stuff is shiner and slightly different, you only tell the difference when you are up close
here was mine with the generic stuff

Oh beautiful. That's basically what I want mine to look like, minus the spotties. Do you have any advice on putting fogs in the bumper corners? I'm thinking round ones with braces to fit the holes..

nah sorry mate i dont, i was originally going to to do that but never got around to it, now i got a bf gt front so its got its own foglights anyways

Ooh mate, that's beautiful!! If I could get a bf1 fairmont front bar, with that chrome insert, I'd grab a chrome grille to match. Can I ask if those are actual foggies or driving lights?

not sure mate, its not my car. from memory though, all that chrome bling is expensive from ford, and as it was only on fairmont ghia bf 1, hard to find second hand. i had issues trying to make mine look like that, so i gave up and went xr style instead.

I may just end up grabbing a bf1 xt bumper and then putting generic Driving lights in. I'm not gonna go to great expense for a car I'll probably sell one day.
