Does anyone know how hard it is to fit G6E mirrors to a XR8 or if the loom for the indicators is already there if your car is fitted with the luxury pack?

i dont know to be honest - but typically for have only made a couple of looms so i'd expect with a luxury pack the wiring to be there. mirrors themselves *should* be a straight swap

considering g6e mirrors have the indicators in them, an external temp gauge in one, and are memory positioned, im going to say id think it would be a b**ch to fit them to a pre fg car and expect them to work properly. could possibly be done with extra wiring i guess for the extra features, although if you just want the indicator part why not use fg xt stock mirrors with g6e backing and indicator lights, and run your own wires to your indicator wiring?

Sorry guys just to clarify, this is for a FG XR8. I talked to one of the ford spare parts guys and there are 2 different types of mirrors with idicators. One with memory one without. So I was looking at fitting the ones without. The car does have the luxury pack so I was hoping the indicator loom to be there...

non memory fg indicator mirrors? i was of the idea that they only came out on fg's with memory as stock? even if its not there, shouldnt be hard to run your own indicator wires into the door loom and up to the wing mirror plug. even easier if you plan on deleting your side panel indicator anyway, simply re-route and latch on to lengthen the wires. cant see this mod being to much of a hassle

Okay so after some research I have the answers for those who would like to do this on a FG in the future. Trick is to get the non memory mirrors (as fitted to the GT, F6 and XR50) not G6E mirrors. The part numbers are: BG17682D & BG17683D.
The wiring you have two options, cut off the plug and rewire yourself or you can get the matching door looms (which you should be able to get for around $100 each). The part numbers are: BG14630F & BG14631B Hope this helps someone out in the future

so gt and f6 dont have memory mirrors? how bizarre. youd think the gt would have most of the lower cars options as stock.
