all these things use very little power, should still work with a flat battery unless its super dooper flat.

Put a socket in the boot so you can plug 12v in when needed direct to the solenoid?

I'm going back to manual cable because the motor won't pull the lever when the bonnet is shut. if i was to make it work i would probably have to use two of the fuel pullers.

or a boot puller ? they aren't by any means a low power item though, they actually momentarily pull more amps than most other things in the car other than the starter...

I saw one done years ago, on an X-series, using the boot pull solenoid. Worked OK, but a bit wanky IMHO. 8-)

I like the idea, but not for me.
My old XT was the best. No bonnet cable or catch at all, just XY gt bonnet pins, and the second catch as a safety (in case the pins werent done up) easy to open and close, not too good for security though 8-)

Haha, yeah I like them, but on the other hand I hate them, if I was looking for a good bonnet and it has holes for them etc.
Yeah I believe they all use a cable for the battery issue.
what if your changeing a battery and it falls or gets shut by accident.
Atlest it's not to bad in boxcar rip out the grill, cost you a new grill, but some car big job to get the bonnet open.

I did it to my XB back in 1994.

Image

It was great as I had one onm the boot too.
Only XB of the time with both.

Oh, most frequent question I was asked was
"How do you open the bonnet when you have a flat battery"
Simple resonse,
"The battery is in the boot!"

boot cable puller sounds like a goer but also what about at 10kg servo
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/stor ... dProduct=2

a few years back we wired up servo's to number plates (put plate on a door hinge)
and with the right ratio (servo arm swing) we use to be able to flip plates in 0.89secs :D

im sure it would work on a bonnet puller aswell

be a good idea for the new falcon, what cars do have electric bonnet poppers from the factory?

MayBach on the showroom floor at work does,

Starter Battery is in the engine Bay,
Aux Battery is in the boot which will open with a key if they are all flat,
