Finally getting the new rear tyres this wednesday, not going with C-Drives either as the guy said mabe the 'car' is too agressive and needs a harder compound tyre... Also to easy up on the acceleration
Ended up going down a size too for now 215/60/15's insted of 225/60/15's it sucks i know but if i can get 30,00kms+ out of these than that will be worth it.
$285 for em, they are Khumo S 790's but a little bit better so not sure exactly what they are. Hmm hopefully they are money well speant, i didnt really want to pay over $140 again each for a tyre but hey you get that i guess.

Yeah never heard of them before
 How much were they...? Anyway im having second thoughts about getting smaller tyres too (possibly will get wheel spin more often) which isnt what i want.

LOL what is $140 too cheap? damn i thought paying that much for a 15' tyre was expensive. Hmm not sure on the extra for going a 225/60 insted posibly $150+ im guessin.

I got some bridgestone turanza 225s recently for about 130 a pop. Very nice tyre, much better than the goodyear eagles i had on when i bought the car! They were rubbish!

Yeah when i first bought XR6 i had Bridgstone Turanzas on the rears and i was not impressed, very very noisy tyre couldnt even go around a corner slow without the tyres making a horrible noise.

michelin energey, mxv5 i think? Thats what i have on mine, they stick good, and so far, ive gotten 37000 out of them. Being a p plater, they havent had an easy life, but they still have a tiny bit of tread left! probably a few more weeks

got some wheels today..
dont laugh.. the tyres are Ling Long 
quiet as anything! they seem to grip ok.. havnt has anything wet to drive in yet

I put new Yokohama A500s on my EL on Saturday, in 215/60/16s. They replaced a set of exactly the same tyres that I got 67,000kms out of, without wearing them to the tread depth indicators. Couldn't reccomend them enough, plenty grippy, wore perfectly evenly on a lowered non-camber kitted e-series, and got excellent life out of them.

How much did they set you back?tyre wholesaler where i got my rims, were the tyres in the package, tohught id give em a try.. 235/45/17.. speed rated to like 260? haha like im gonna get that far.. and um, load rating is liek 720 haha, falcon required like 650 or something.. probably about 150 a corner maybe? they are chinese lol

Funny, my car had turanzas all round when i bought it. They were quiter than the C drives that i have just had put on. And they grip better during lower speed stuff. and dont squeal when you are braking heavy and touch a white line!! 
I am almost looking forward to when i can put another set back on... just gotta do another 30 000 km on these first!! |
