Really been enjoying going through all 113 pages of this thread, some excellent big bottomed ladies in here.
I have had 3 of the bigger Fords over the years. The first was a ZG fairlane way back (20+ years ago) with a worked 351 in it. Second was a NA fairlane that I picked up for nix, was an ok car though a bit rough around the edges. Took it to QLD and back multiple times and just couldn't be killed. Quite economical for a 6 cylinder too. I now have a 2000 AU Series II 5.0l V8 LTD. I live in South Australia and have NEVER seenanother one of these on the road. It is in really good condition with just over 220k kms on it. Runs dual fuel, had an old Impco 225 system when I got it, but swapped that out for a Kings vapour system which is fully programmable. Will put some pics up if anyone is interested.... Cheers

Cheers Of course we are interested. Over time, this forum has slowly passed away. The garage builds get less visitors, and this thread gets lots of views but minimal contributions. But in regards to your beast. I actually have the same. A 2000 AU II LTD. It is dark blue, with the V8 auto. It only has 160,000 Ks on it, which there arent too many with low KAys anymore. It seems standard is up around 220/250. I have been aiming to make mine a TL50 look alike. I managed to find the very rare body kit and the grill for it, a genuine NOS kit that must have been a left over, im unsure how many were made, but it cost me a fair bit, and I havnt seen many for sale since. I have had that fitted and got the panel beaters to paint the headlight surrounds from silver to the body color as well. I got hold of a black leather interior from a wreckers and I have changed it all over so I just need to work out now to get the dash re colored black and it will be a full black interior. And I had a mate who had a 347 stroker kit for sale, so I bought that off him also. Just need the block to be bored and notched and I can put it together. Cool mate, just checked out your garage and the blue AU2 is looking fantastic. Looks so much better with the black interior, not a fan of the light grey in mine. Body kit looks great, didn't know there was one for the LTD. Mine is like the silver one you have but does not have the spoiler like yours. Was hunting for the LTD for quite a while, so when this one came up I jumped at it. Have not done too much mod wise as yet. Replaced the stereo with a flip screen head unit hat mostly covers the (unusable) GPS screen, put some better H1 low beam globes in so I could see better at night and some pure white parker leds because they look good. Added some daytime running lights as well. Not sure about future plans, cannot lower it as we live on a dirt road that it bottoms out on occasionally now, i like the ROH 16" rims it has so will keep those for a while too. Interior definately needs a clean up, drivers seat has a wear tear and the wheel is worn badly in the normal spots, not sure how to replace a airbag wheel either. Cheers, Ian Hi & welcome  ..... easy to change the steering wheel, just need one correct torx bit, disconnect battery [for at least 5 mins] & done [so to speak]

Interestingly I have been a member on here since 2007 when I had an EF wagon, just forgot about it over time. Will disconnecting the battery for 5 mins affect anyyhing else? Like the onboard computers for the petrol and gas systems? Just need to find a better leather steering wheel which does not have the wood sections on it now....

Just need to find a better leather steering wheel which does not have the wood sections on it now.... it might be 5/10 mins not sure .. it's just to make sure that there is no electrical charge in cars systems. no computer systems will be fine .. they will however revert back to factory settings [what ever that may be] i believe |

Nice one there, thats a real neat example.
I recently traded the silver one in for a Landcruiser, dual cab. I was really disappointed in the uselessness of the GPS screen also, it was really short sighted of ford to not include any other functions or abilities. But a flip screen is a pretty good idea now you mention it. There is probably a way to wire in AV input to the screen but Ill have a look at that later sometime.. As mad mentioned the wheel is pretty easy, also when you disconnect the battery turn the key to the on position and back as this will drain any last bit of electricity in the wires for extra safety. If your interested there is a pair of skirts and the grille surround on ebay at the moment, but there is no mesh centre for the grille, front bumper piece or rear skirt.

Yeah, I've chatted online with the guy that owns that one. Apparently it's what Mick Webb referred too as the "Geno pack", with a white on white paint scheme and black leather trim. It was also converted too manual by SVO too. Very cool and even more rare than the already rare 'standard' SVO Fairlane.
