I have a Ford Fairmont EL 97 and recently had a person back into my car. So just sorting out insurance now and might as well get my self a body kit and pay the bit extra while they are at it. The places I have had quotes from to fix my car have sugested it might be best to soruce the kit myself and get them to install. I am a tad new to all this. I have a few options.

The front bar needs to be replaced. So far I am thinking just getting the front bar and not worry with the rest of the kit. Does anyone have pics of custom front bars with standard everything else? does it look funny?

Or go for the full kit (front, side, rear) depending on costs.

I personally like the Venom kit at this stage. But open to suggestions.

I am not a fan of the side skirt door pannels.
Dont like the Tickford kit.

I have had a look at this post about the different body kits

My EL

The SSV site has got me confused as it has 2 different Venom side skirts, 0522 and 0505 + the front bar is 0587 and then I seen it for 0504

So what suggestions do you have? Costs? Places?

The 0522 skirts are the "Venom" ones and the 0502 skirts are their "Sports" ones.

IMO the only kits that look good on the EF/EL's are the GT Kit, Venom Kit or just the tickford kit. And don't just fit some pieces and not others as it makes the car look completely out of place...

And just be prepared to pay a minimum of about $1500 for a kit and an extra $1000+ to get someone to fit it and paint it.

imo the car would look funny with any front bar or lip without side skirts.

Especially if its heaps lower than the door sills.

But if thats the look you want than go for it i guess.

EDIT: Tickford kits arnt the best, but theyre definitely a cheaper option. Sponsor here does them for around $750 i think.

Have a look on eBay, $750 will also get you a custom half front bar, skirts, and rear bar. EL GT mock up kit it is.

But be aware that those kits come with absolutely no fittings. There is a reasonable amount of work involved in fitting the front and rear bars...

CCS (Canberra Car Styling) is a site sponsor. Go to them for a nice tickford kit :) Real cheap and good quality!

Just about all replacement rear bars come with an indented section which is easy enough to cut out for your tow bar. As you can see on my rear bar...

I reckon the BF bar matches the curves. The BA GT bar is too boxy for the front of it, looks strange.
