Hi all,
In my goal to put an EL XR6 front on my gli... I wanted to know what bonnets were available that are compatible with the XR front.. lots of googling showed me that apparenlty no other EL models had that bonnet (at least not the Gli's, futuras, fairmonts, Spacks, classic, fairmonts etc) So what models had the same bonnet as an EL Xr6?? EF's? Also, one model of EF/EL has a nose with no grill in it at all.. but I can't find out which one... (suspect it's an EF) Can anyone give me any pointers here? regards Frank |

xr bonnets will only suit xr nose cones, no alternatives or other options.

Bummer.. thought maybe I could score the bonnet elsewhere... don't want the flutes anyway..
I thought maybe this bonnet would fit:

Thats the one in the pic isn't it?
I thought as much.. mostly because: a. They look similiar at the front with the straight leading edge. b. That guy that was making EF/EL bonnets with Boss humps said they were good for XR's and EF's but not EL GLI or Futura's.. so figured they must be the same. |

the bonnen on that red ef is the one you need if you want an el xr front on your el gli

you need a ef series 1 or 2 gli or futura bonnet same as the xr bonnet just hasnt got the flutes cut into it.

Sweet... I'm going up to a guy with dozens of wrecked EF/EL's on the weekend and and I'm hoping he has a bonnet in my N9 colour in the EF style.
I was thinking of putting XC flutes and hump on it like the other guy on here.. and so I don't want the xr flutes. |

EF GLi, EF Futura, EF XR, EL XR are interchangeable.
EF Fairmont, EL Fairmont are interchangeable. EL GLi/Futura are specific to that model. |

Thats great as it means I've a much better chance of getting a good bonnet compatible with Xr and the right color.. chances are better anyway...
