Hey all,
I know this question has been thrown around a lot, and I have seen some info on other forums ...but nothing to have me 100% convinced! Will AU front seats fit into an EF/EL? I've read that it's simply a matter of taking the bottom rail off the AU, and swapping it with the E-series rail, and apparently everything lines up & up fits perfectly, so the whole modified seat can then just be bolted into the EF/EL ...unlike BA onwards. Can anyone here please confirm this for sure? ...I need to make an overnight decision, lol Cheers!!!  MARK

so will ef el seats bolt right into an au? cos if so ill get ef el leather seats as theyre cheaper lol

Sweet, so AU Fairlane front seats will be fine in an EL Fairmont Ghia?
What about rear seats too? |

With the rear, you will get the SWB/LWB issues that you would have with E series fairlane seats. There are a couple of ways to fit the rear seats.... *modify the mounting points on the EL to accept the AU seats. *Fit the AU seat foam/covers onto the EL frames. I did the second option but I have been told that it is easier to modify the mounting points on the car to accept the seats.

no matter, just drove an hour to bris and picked up au fairlaine black leather fr and bck seats door cards with woodgrain, black centre console black leater handbrake cover , black carpet all in mint condition for 450 dollars! cant wait to start on that tomorrow!
