Hi all what is the brightest globe I can put in the headlight of an ef without damaging the headlight

Damaging headlight?
What do you mean? Ive heard that HID conversions are illegal unless they auto level or are fitted in projectors. They are pretty bright, ranging up to 10000K maybe even more. I have 4000K Halogen lights in my car, the brightest legal headlight. They aren't that white or blue, but more of a cleaner looking yellow.

If u go too high in the wattage it melts the headlight its happened to many ef owners

You can do that with the LED H4 globes, sending too much power to the globe

If you don't want to do a conversion, try the Narva 50% plus type globe. They were an improvement but ensure that your headlights are clean first. |

The LED headlights apparently don't put out enough light to be useful on the road.
So, other than looking cool, they serve absolutely no purpose. Also, Ive heard they blow really easy as they send too much power to the unit and cause it to overload. Check out MADs Profile for his retrofitting thread, or alternatively, use the search function!

HID run at about 35w so should be pretty safe but balusters are known to go on them

Retrofitting HID projectors is still illegal, but they are certainly better on the eyes of other road users, and they use the available light from a HID bulb more efficiently, rather than light scattering everywhere when used is a headlight designed for halogen globes.
