hey all, just wondering Fairmont owners, does ur boot release work when the car is off? reason is i just did a climate conversion and used a Fairmont green BEM and dash wiring, but now the boot will only unlock with the dash button only with the car on or in accessory. i'm shore before the conversion it would open when the car was off. :?: thanks.

Yep, my EF Fairmont opens without the car being on, i like it that way too

In the old mans EF XR6 it wont, the car has to be in Acc or on for the boot release button on the dash to work, which to me is a royal pain in the a***. My Fairmont runs the green BEM too so i find it a bit weird that changing over to the green bem would do that.

Series 1 boot release button worked with ign. off
Ford revised this for security purposes.

BEM controls all this.

I think you get a couple of mins of grace period after you swtich the car off, I think it may be 5mins? I know with my EL its the case.

My Old EF1 worked all the time, my brothers EF2 dies the moment the ignition is turned off, and my EL remains active once the key is off, but not for long.
