proabably look at 2 grand for the front and back seats, and the strips on the door trims... would also depend on weather you remove the seats yourself and what type of leather you choose.

 Geez i hope it wouldnt cost that much!!! Stuff that, hmm i dont know what would be the best option now lol. I think i might just stick with plain old XR seats for now

get some quotes as i might be wrong, but i think i'd be pretty spot on the mark there!

So what do you guys think i should do then? Or what would you do:

1- Keep the XR interior and just leave it like it is and spend the $$$ on other mods?
2- Continue looking for a Ghia interior and do something different regardless the reduced bolstering etc.
3- Keep the XR seats but redo it in leather (expensive choice)

What would you do? I mean i can make my own decisions but im just after some positive feedback thats all

Cheers

if ur determined to have leather, i'd probably look at getting the seats reupholstered. just think, any faimont interior that you find will be anywhere from 6 - 10 years old and you'll still pay a fair bit for it i'd imagine.
Not many fairmonts or ghias seem to appear at local wreckers, and even if they did, i'd imagine the interiors to be quite expensive.

probably not much more expensive to get the interior reupholstered in brand new cow to your specification. but still, it'll be a fair bit of $$$'s all the same

Auto Image in Thomastown gave me some quick quotes on getting some of my interior reupholstered.

These guys do the DJR Falcon interior, and all of Herrods work, so they are well recommended.

I reupholster my drivers seat, I was quoted roughly $200 to $250 for new leather and factory velour. And it didnt matter much to the price if it was all leather or not. The reason its so cheap is they can copy the pattern of the exisiting covers. If they had to create a new pattern from scratch, thats where the $$$ comes into it.

Hence the reason why I would get some XR seats, and get new covers made for them. If I can provide them a premade patter, but say make this bit leather and this bit velour, then their job would be easy and the the end result to me is cheap.

Oh... s**t... lol...

That explains why I couldnt find the ratchet. I was looking the other day, but assumed it was somewhere buried in my garage. As for the torx bit, I didnt notice that at all.

Have to organise to mail them back at some stage.. I will need my T50 soon... :D

i wouldnt say the BA leathers seats are that good, v hard and v slippery look good thats about it IMHO. it was a brand new car that my pares test drove they may take a while to loosen up abit

I went in a mates 12mth old XR6T ute on sunday and it had leather. It was much nicer leather than what we had in our previos 95 LTD. It doesn't slip at all :?

with the LTD's, i have DF - no electric front seat, and the back seats - all they need are 3 extra holes punched in - a friggen easy job. the bolsters are also diff, but you just wrap the LTD fabric around the stock EF one, and it fits without a worry. but yes, you will have an issue with electrics in the back - which is going to be an issue with the Ghia interior anyways. as for the DL(?) LTD interiors, that might be the one with electric front seats...

DF LTD have electric front seats driver and passenger.

nah, it only works for other members of your family here in tassie.

anyways, if you want a leather interior, easiest and cheapest way is to get a second hand one. if you've got a lot of money spare, recover the xr one. or if you don't want the hassles, be happy with what you've got!
