my el dash converstion in my eb fairmont has been completed for a while now but just cleaning it up now and was wondering if there was a way to put a el climate control module in place of my eb one with obviously looks put of place now! been looking through the docos but only finding the pinout for el-ef not eb, so its a bit of a head f@#K at the moment, also my tacho in in the el cluster is also out, i've tried a few cluster and make no difference!

What ECU are you using? The Tacho needs to be sourced from the ECU, not the normal Pink Tacho wire from behind the cluster. From memory it is the TFI return. Will have to look up the the correct Pin when I get home.

As for the EL climate control module, it is physically smaller than the EB one, and the face is curved. You would also need to run an EL ECU as there are a number of things monitored and run by the ECU in an EF/EL. The Vacuum control box thingy (can't remember what it is called LOL) will need to be used from the matching car as well. You will also need to build an adapter, and use the EF/EL fan control module, and rewire some other bits and pieces as well.

You may as well put in the whole EL dash etc.

yes i have used the whole dash, door trims ect, just decided to sit my eb climate control inside the dash and have cut the face of the el one which im using as a dummy so it make the dash look right so when i want to change temp just pull dummy face off and my original gear is there rit behind it. is a lazy way but to many wire lol.

I am assuming you built an adapter loom to use the EF/EL instrument cluster?

If so, then you have to build a similar adapter for the climate control.

yer i sort of made a loom, but was unable to get temp and tacho to work correctly, and after looking at wiring diagrams looks like they both come from the computer.

Yes, you need the EL ECU to get them to work correctly.
