Im prob gonna get payed out by some a**hole on this forum, But i need some help..
Is it possible to Modify the ED Loom to fit the EL fairmont Dash loom onto it?? |

BenJ if you are reading this, does RD still have your old loom from your old sedan? Will this adapt a EL dash to a ED loom.

By the sounds of it, what you want to do is adapt the other end of the dash loom, as in the end that would plug into the engine and body looms.
Unfortunately, due to the large changes made by ford, not many of the ED car plugs will be in the same locations as the EL dash plugs. The EL uses two large plug blocks on the right of the pedal box as the major connectors, and the ED will a gazzillion of smaller plugs from one end to the other. While it is technically feasible to build a custom loom that way, I think there is just as much work, if not more to achieve it. The reason I chose to modify the EB loom was to minimise the amount of physical changes, and because I knew that loom was in good working order before I began. No matter how you go about it there is many many hours of work ahead of you modifying the dash looms. Good Luck Cheers BenJ

Cheers Benj! I guess that idea has gone down the drain, But the Dash loom that RD has for sale, Would that help me out? Or is that only suited for EB?? I had the plan of laying a whole EL loom down, But i want to try get done before AFD..

Cheers There is nothing wrong with the idea, it will just take a lot of commitment, planning and time to execute it correctly. The dash loom that RD has is from an EB11 Fairmont, and, as far as I know, 'should' plug into an ED. However, I also expected it to plug into an EB1, but it didn't. That loom also needs some work, has smartlock bypassed, and an after market alarm system wired in. As for your plan of laying a whole EL loom down, which would include, engine bay, dash and body looms, that is the usual way this conversion gets done. Again, you need a lot of planning, time and commitment to get it done, not to mention a donor car etc. RD went that route with his wagon and it has turned out great. BenJ

just put the whole el loom in it with engine bay loom u get thermos and dual band all working good then
