has anyone had a go or has technical data on flashing the trip computer in a 90 LTD to make it Y2K compatible ?
id like my clock to go past 1999 any help greatly appreciated sav

Nah, got no idea about that. I doubt thet'd even BE flashable. Most likely permanently fixed ROM.

i heard somewhere i think, that if you set the year to 1988, it is all good.... or something.. i dunno - just something i think i picked up somewhere

Do what I did when I had my NA Fairlane, fit a trip computer from an NC III Fairlane as the calendar goes back to 1972, hence its the same calendar year as 2000,.
So if you run it off the year 1982, its the same calendar year as 2006. EF/EL just wont work, different plug, shape, costs etc.

looks like ford weren't expecting these particular models to still be on the road by the year 2000. roflmao.
