Ok, here's the skinny:
I have an ED Fairmont http://www.fordmods.com/the-garage-f53/meet-monty-t82840.html. I hate the lack of a beveridge holder in the console. I don't like the EF/EL console, but may be about to come into an AU one. Fitting it wont be a big issue for me, where I hit a snag is the power window switches. I considered buying a couple of rear door switches and doing some mangling to get the switches into the front door trims. My housemate, PapaSmurf pointed out the problem: How do you then control the other three windows while you're driving? So: I need ideas. What can I do to come up with a way to have my cake and eat it too? I don't care how wacky the idea is, it might spark something in me to get it done. Please, I'm not looking for "It can't be done" or "Its physically impossible". Brainstorming is all about suggestions which may seem insane, but might be plausible. Good ideas might be stopped by one or both of two reasons not to go ahead: Too expensive, or too much time to do. Any and all suggestions helpful. Come on people, if someone had you at gunpoint and told you to work it out, what would you try?

HAHAHA im doing the very same thing purely because i can put a friggin cup anywhere. it was ok when it was auto but now i need to shift theres to much juggling. im using a spare ED gli console and an EF console and il be cutting from the end of the shifter garnish back (while still trying to maintain most of the sides) and moulding up the rear end of the EF one, while still maintaining the original ED mounting points. then il glass it together and where the cup holder/window switch trims go for the EF il glass two deep cup holders. sand the lot, spray it grey and whack it in. AU would be good too but i believe there more of a recess for the hand brake lever than EF/EL?

I have the JDM cupholders in my pulsar, and I found that they were not able to hold a 600ml bottle. I simply had to start getting cans instead of bottles, and had no issues. This may be an issue for mini smurf and others.

LOL, when I decided I needed cup holders, I just did a complete EL dash and interior conversion.

you could try putting switches under the lid on the console or inside the console

Just so that I know i have the room. haha i dont think my missus likes the way i drive the falcon so im alone in it most of the time. im actually going to use large maccas cups as the basis for my cup holders.

Or even better, just think what will happen when you smash 3rd there would be alot more force going to the defenceless coke cup. coke would be everywhere

stuff having a cup holder there, if it does spill it wouldnt be pretty, plus you have to reach.
au console would be best shouldnt be to hard to fit |

I was thinking about getting a hacksaw to the bottom of the EF Cupholders when fully extended and somehow solid mount them onto my consol under the Tbar to do a better job at holding drinks in place !
Or you can go the dodgey job if you have space and just glue a stubby holder onto the console lol !
