This is on my EF - Long story short, the back of the barrel is coming off. Temporarily fixed it by shoving it all back together but I can still pull the back plate off with little resistance.

BTW - the bit that is coming off is is the plate at the back where the wires join, you can see it edging its way out here

Are there any quick and easy fixes? It looks like it is supposed to be held in by a couple of notches punched into the the housing.

BTW - little hung over this morning, would prefer a solution that didnt require too much thinking or hammering.

Run some superglue around ti and tap it together gently.

If possible, use a g clamp to hold it together.

push the backing plate back in and while holding it in get a flat screw driver and hammer and tap the original noches back in..

i have done this heaps of times at work...

No superglue anyway so the hammer reluctantly came out
