Tow bar weighs a truck load get ridda that 4 starters. Carbon front seats, fibreglass bonnet(don't know if legal), go through car front 2 back removing anything that isn't needed. spare, jack, some of the sound deadening especially in the boot etc. depends on how stripped u want the car to be. ,lol.

i always thought in NSW a spare was required for RW. actually, i think it may be illegal to drive without one. not too sure

thats QLD rw mate, they are a lot more anal in melbourne.

if rw isnt an issue, ie its a paddock racer take off the exhaust. more power and less weight. they actually weigh a fair bit. windows are a big step, get some form of plastic (do I need to mention clear plastic??). strip the seats, carpet and interior linning. smaller lighter rims too. a big set of cheap 17 inch rims can add 20+kgs to your car. get a cheap set of 15 inch alloys. take off aircon compressor, lightweight battery, aluminium radiator, fibreglass panels, this list is endless, you just have to sit down and nut it out.

The last time I got a RW the guy told me the spare tyre is only checked if it is actually in there, if you take it out it will still pass a RW, if it's in there it needs to be in RW condition. There's a few cars I know of, the Chrysler crossfire for one, that don't come with a spare and there's plenty of them getting around.

I take it your mates car is an auto so you have to be able to easily see what gear you are in at night hence the light needs to work.

Throw out all your mates... an instructor at Barbagallo told me most reasonably well driven cars are around a second a lap faster with no instructor, just because of the extra weight of the second person in the car. Woe betide he who turns up with a boot full of subwoofers and amps.
