Simple answer yes, you need to keep the import and freight costs combined under $1000 to pay nothing.

I may not be totally correct here, but if you go over $1000 I can guarantee you will pay customs duty (5%) on the purchase, then GST on the purchase, freight cost and duty, double slugged on the duty, paying tax on a tax.

Free trade agreement if its from the US, Im sure you will only pay GST on the purchase if its over $1000 AUS, as far as I know.

It looked like parts were going to arrive today by tracking. Gave them a call and they are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. So hopefully I will get these posted tomorrow as well.
Thanks Steve

This is a good example of how a group buy should be done. Communication is the key.

Leave belt on and tensioned and use a rattle gun if you can get it in there.
If not remove the whole alternator and use a rattle gun.
If not you will have to damage the pulley by holding it with a pipe wrench of some sort and using a nice length breaker bar on the nut.

Jeff
