Dude - You can pull apart the trip computer and spray it whatever colour you damn well like. Whilst you're at it, change its readout to a blue!

Why do you need a EF clockspring and indicator stalk? I have one here, minus the indicator stalk that you can have for the price of me posting it to Aussie... Will find out esact cost if you're at all interested - What part of AU are you gonna be in next week.

Am not a boffin, nor a mechanic - But I think the EA gear shift dude would need a straight stick, not the bent one? I don't know - I chopped my stick down to about two thirds its length in order to put a completely odd shifter on... It is a manual shifter, but a bit of trickery means you just push down on the whole damn lot to get it between selections, rather than that ugly hunk of plastic Ford stuck in the original EF and EL C**k.

i would just paint the trip computer, but i dont know of any paint that matches the stock grey. that and also i want black buttons, so then i need to sort out the lettering on them if i paint them too.

for the clock spring, i purely want variable intermittent wipers! im selling this one for the same reason as the trip computer, wrong colour. i could be interested in your EF clockspring though, are the markings on the wiper arm in good nick?

as for shifter knob, well yeah, my personal though it is will proly need a new rod to go inside, but thats simple as to make. theres a doco on how to do the swap anyway.

Anyone know if the EF-EL combination switch is simply a case of plug and play in a ED?

Well now - Just paint ALL the stock gray bits the same colour as your new trip computer.... I am still in process of doing my dash and am going to have to rip out the dash loom from my other EF Fairmont donor (don't know why a couple of wires have been chopped on my original Fairmont, but I just don't like the look of it - had after market alarm fitted and all sorts of wierd bits going on that I cannot work out... So - since I have painted it all and put new graphics on it and everything, I am going to swap the loom...!) Anyhooooo - I've done the air vents, trip computer, electronic aerial / demister / rear wiper surround, climate control, interior lights and door handles with charcoal metallic. Kind of similar in shade to the original dark gray, but just a whole heap nicer! Also did the climate control display conversion to bright blue. It takes hours --- Don't be fooled by the technical document on changing the displays colours --- The LCD panel is soldered to the main printed circuit board so you have to be patient with de-soldering the whole damn lot and resoldering when done. I may create a technical document on doing that and get it inserted into the current display colour change teco doco's.

Right, where was I?

Oh, that's right - Black buttons ruin that idea totally.

Marking on wiper arm are excellent. Be warned - There is *NO* indicator stalk as I sold it for $30 to someone who I hope knows how much work they are to put in! Heheheheheh ;)

If you do want me to wrap it up and send it to you then I have no issue with that.

No worries - I can take it to the post office and see how much it is in the morning... It is a EF FAIRMONT spring and stalk, so is variable intermitant wipers.

fiend, yeah not too keen on changing the colour of the whole dash. or at least not until i can get the whole lot done to my prefered taste... but that'll be a project for next year.

to be honest mate, i might not worry about the combo switch for now. but i'll let you know if i change my mind down the track! ;)
