Just out of interest, does anyone know roughly the price of an XR turbo engine complete. (loom ecu etc...)

And can you just drop one into an xt, mont etc?

Thats roughly what i was thinking.

I was looking at Xt's thinking itd be cool to drop a turbo engine in. Then it got me thinking how much theyd be worth.

Cause you could buy a cheap Xt or something from the auctions, and drop a turbo engine into it lol. You can get BA's with 150000+kms for under 10k.

yeh the turbo motors are bout 3-4k, but you need all the electronics to run it, which'll be a pain, but much easier than transplanting barras into other cars, which is happening a fair bit now.

I'd say put around 7 grand away for the turbo and everything you'll need for it. so if you can a XT for $10k, and spend 5-7 on the turbo you've got a sleeper XR6 for under 20k. but then you gotta consider you can get an XR6T for 20-25 grand easy as. have a look on autotrader eg http://tinyurl.com/2k85ak (autotrader link. the normal link f**k this page up coz its soo long)

Buy an XR6T. Then you could swap an XT kit on it if ya wanted a sleeper.

No doubt like many before me i wasd thinking of a way of getting a cheap xr turbo, or xt turbo to be exact.

I already have a 25k loan and a subaru that doesnt work, so im in no position to take out more money from the bank, esp since im only working part time cause im at tafe.

An Xr turbo is highly unlikely, unless ford bring out the orion soon and prices on ba/f plummet. doubtfull.
