I didn't have the skills, patience, time or inclination (or the $'s for that matter) to do what you're doing Simon.

All the kudos to you mate ...you'll get there.

Just had to say... holy crap that is a lot of messy wiring. Makes me feel so much better about my wiring now I've seen that.

It's funny, after seeing this car in Street Machine and reading all the posts on it you would think it was near enough to perfect after all the money spent on it...

Hope to see the beast back on the road soon! Good luck!

It was a flashy exterior, hiding a freakin time-bomb.

In the quest for big numbers (kW and dB) ...practicality, reliability, and driveability fell by the wayside ...not much thought went into the car itself as an overall working unit.

Even the Audio mob (name escapes me now) admitted that the guy who did most of the work on this car got the boot because of shoddy workmanship.

Look at Fritzz's 500+ rwhp EL ...it's the practical way everything has been carefully thought out & put together that makes his car sensational.

This car needs to be gutted and thoughtfully rebuilt again from the ground up ...attaboy Simon.

I too can't wait to see this thing back dosing karnts on WA roads.

yeh thats wat i expected... leaves me wondering how it eva got in a magazine!

I'd look at a handful of other cars that have made magazines and question how they got in too - not going to mention names for obvious reasons...but there are plenty around that leave me scratching my head that's for sure.

I used to see this car when it was tuned here in Vic...as many know it is one with the lot - also consider it was one of the first ELs to be turbocharged - so most things cost a hell of a lot more going back 4 and 5 years ago !

It's just the fact that they probably approached the magazine and pestered until they got their car in.

It's not that hard to get in. Just have something unique (which pyroay sure as hell did) and have the rest of the car tidy!

Glad I stumbled across this thread, I only learned about this weapon tonight when I read through Aaron's orginal thread.

Good luck with her mate, I'll be following along. Get a couple of YouTube vids up when she's back up at 110%, would LOVE to see the thing in action.

I think that’s a bit harsh and in fact is incorrect.

- Not a quest for big numbers
- Never a DB car it was built for SQ and it won the national title………twice and was undefeated in its last season with the jhighest winning margin ever in the history of Car Audio Australia and judges still say is the best example they have ever seen
- As far as practicality goes I drove it as a daily driver for 5 yrs over 130,000 km including towing my fireworks trailer, taking my children in it, driving to work daily and around town.
- In terms of reliability it was a completely daily driven car and I had hardly any issues driving it in the whole 5yrs I had it. Turbo was changed after 4yrs and over 100,000km, damaged 1 piston because when the engine bay was being painted a bolt was dropped into the piping by accident, oil changes filters (inc regular air filters when I had it) and nothing else

It was built as a great all round car and I think that’s what it achieved.
Different people have different things they want out of a car.
Certainly if you are after great quarter mile times and not interested in an awesome sounding stereo then 100 stereo wires and 200kg of mdf and fibreglass for stereo components are weight that you don’t need.

If you don’t want remote engine start, remote windows, remote lighting, remote horn, tilt sensors, and various other high end alarm things then those things also become an obstacle.

It was not built as a dedicated drag car, the fact it ended up with so much power was an added benefit and I guess attracted those who had an interest in that area., I had a single piece tail shaft designed and made by Mal wood in Qld in there for 3yrs with no issues whatsoever. If I recall it was only when this was changed out the problem with this area started.

I hope the current owner get what they want out of it. When you have significantly different goals than were originally intended it will require work to get there.
